Scholarship of Teaching
The scholarship of teaching is our primary purpose. Teaching and learning refers to the systematic study of teaching and learning processes. It requires creativity and dedication both to student learning and professional development.
The following is an overview of my philosophy of teaching supported by anonymous student responses to course surveys. Artifacts are provided below to support my claim of being a highly qualified and effective instructor. Artifacts include a list of all professional development conferences attended, course syllabi examples, and evaluations. Links to scholarly teaching evidence will appear when hovering over various items within the list. A reflection highlighting a few representative artifacts related to scholarly teaching can be found on my 'To Teach, Learn, Serve, And Be' reflection page.
Philosophy of Teaching
Professor Jill Gonzalez-Bravo provided me a great opportunity for developing and implementing new curriculum for the classroom. Moreover, I found the curriculum to be both challenging and relevant to implementing new technology into the classroom. Professor Gonzalez-Bravo was also ‘very’ effective in presenting a varied approach to using technology and then also having us critically think about the implications of such tools in the learning process. I would highly recommend this course be available to students of all majors while studying at MNU! |
Dr. Gonzalez-Bravo is a fantastic professor. She is beyond confident in this area. She comes to class and is always very encouraging and helpful. she is understanding and is willing to work independently with us. Dr. Gonzalez-Bravo was effective in communicating the information being taught. She emphasized the importance of integrated technology into the classroom. |
The course instructor helped to establish student teaching guidelines and expectations every day of class. She held all students to a high standard of excellence, making sure that we produced work that was worthy of the status of educator. The instructor scaffolded assignments according to the weight and stress of the course, giving us time through deadlines each month to make sure we stayed on top of our work. She also provided us with educational environments and mentors that helped us grow! Fantastic job. |
